It’s when we listen to the cheap pop out every week songs to recreate vague feelings of happiness or pain that we know we are in trouble. It is vague and watered down because of the poetically generic lyrics and our own understanding that this feeling is shared therefore less selfishly special, less “nobody understands me,” less personal and less effective and maybe that’s why we play that song over and over again for hours until we are sick of it. Just as how we get sick of reliving that weak sense of happiness or pain, we get sick of songs and that just means we wait for the next one. The next feeling and the song that goes with it.

A nice band playing in the park was audible from the street. When I walked closer, I saw a cool Asian dude with a nice hat standing with his guys. It sounded pretty good, and they went for a while. Washington Park, I think?

It’s really fun going down to Coney and seeing all these musicians play. Sometimes they play in those little pagodas and sometimes they flop down on one of the benches. It’s a mixture karaoke, dancing, and loud heartbeats. It’s obnoxiously loud and amazingly comfortable.

Lively, so lively. More so because they’re just chillin’ at the beach.
